COBIT Implementation Training (Public Course)
Introduction
This 2-day, instructor-led course is designed for individuals who have a fundamental working knowledge of CobiT but lack practical IT management and governance implementation experience. The course will benefit anyone who plays an active role in the implementation of CobiT.
Course Description
During this course, delegates will learn about CobiT's objectives and principles and will gain an understanding of what CobiT can mean for an organisation. In addition, delegates will benefit from the proven, standardised implementation roadmap that guides an IT governance implementation. All the components of this route map, including scope and planning, are discussed during the course.

- Introduction to IT Governance Implementation Using COBIT and Val IT - Overview of the road map
- Identify Needs - Scoping the Use of COBIT and Val IT
- Envision the Solution - Analysing process maturity and identifying gaps
- Plan Solution - Developing Improvement Strategies, Defining Projects, and Creating a Change Plan
- Implement Solution - Transfer to Production and Measuring Performance
- Operationalise Solution - Governance Organisation and Processes
- Implementation Considerations
Course Outcomes
After completing this course, delegates will be able to:
- Understand ITGI’s approach to an IT governance implementation based on the IT Governance Implementation Guide, 2nd Edition.
- Understand the implementation road map and how CobiT and Val IT support each step of the implementation.
- Scope and plan IT governance initiatives based on CobiT and Val IT.
- Assess process capability using CobiT maturity models.
- Plan improvements using control objectives and control practices.
- Create a performance measurement framework using CobiT metrics and the balanced scorecard.
- Sustain the IT governance implementation.
- Consider practical implementation factors.
- Be aware of CobiT implementation support from ISACA.
